Why we collect this information
Overstrand Coastal Academy collects the personal information in this form solely to assess and process your learner's application for enrolment, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act 4 of 2013.
- Learner & parent/guardian details — to identify the applicant and maintain contact throughout the admission process.
- Health & medical information — to ensure learner safety and provide appropriate support. This constitutes special personal information under POPIA and requires explicit consent.
- Supporting documents — to verify identity, academic history, and eligibility for enrolment.
Sharing & retention
Your information will not be shared with third parties except as required by law. Application records are retained for a maximum of 3 years; enrolled learner records for the duration of enrolment plus 5 years, after which they are securely destroyed.
Your rights under POPIA
